Photo wall

Kinda along the lines of the gallery, use a wall for displaying photo mosaics. Use a standard size frame (1' x 1') that has the photos glued-on. Then hang these on the wall.

Sink ideas

Have a mirror image on a single countertop, lose the second tap. The bronze tap in the second picture is a better alternative, but might need to retain the beige stain to go with it

Decorative Concrete

I came across this wonderful medium called 'decorative concrete' a few days back. It is almost a coincidence as I have been thinking about using readily available material (i.e. concrete) for most of the building process.

Water Conservation

Use rainwater harvesting
- any non-potable water (laundry, kitchen, handwash) will be recycled

Sun room

Use of the room: Sketching, reading

Location: left+middle+upstairs; accesible from three sides

Roof:

- Glass (with a coolant film) rather than concrete.

- Glass to be sloping towards the backside, so that the water will run off into a conservation pit for rainwater harvesting

Lighting:

- Floor lights, spot lights from ledges between the glass roofs

Have Airconditioning

Remove: The large stone behind the chairs

Replace:

- Instead of the stones, have benches with cushions on top and that doubles up as a bookcase underneath

- The two chairs + table to be replaced with armchairs, upholsertered sofas (loveseat, single-seater)

Studio

Having a private art gallery in the house is a great way to showcase
art, photographs etc as well as have a single place to store without clutter all around the house.

The idea in this picture would be to have a narrow room (say 5' x 15')

Instead of the large posters, use the method of flipcharts.
